The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is a premier national Institute in the country dedicated to research in
Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences & Technology. The Institute has field stations at Kavalur & Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, Gauribidanur & Hoskote in Karnataka, and Leh & Hanle in J&K. The Institute has taken up the responsibility of building space-based Visible Emission Line Coronagraph on Aditya-I mission along with Indian Space Research Organisation.

Qualification & Experience: Consistently good academic career with First class M.Sc(Tech)/M.Tech. in Optics/Photonics from a recognised University/institution. Minimum of one (or more) year of research experience in any of the leading national laboratories in India is essential. Candidate should be experienced in working in ultra-clean laboratories, test and calibration of optical components and integration of space payloads. Working knowledge of optical design software packages such as ZEMAX etc. is essential.

Qualification & Experience: Consistently good academic career with First Class B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university/institution. Minimum of one year (or more) experience as Engineer Trainee or Technical/Engineer Associate in any of the leading national laboratories. Candidates should have the domain experience in designing space-payloads for science missions. Hands on experience in building finite element modeling, solving and post processing and report generation is necessary. Proficiency in AutoCAD®, Solid Edge®, Autodesk Inventor®, MSC Visual Nastran, Hyper Works etc. is essential.
